ADVENT is derived from a Latin word, translated “COMING or ARRIVAL.” Advent has traditionally been known as a time Christ followers prepare their hearts to celebrate “the COMING or ARRIVAL OF GOD” – 4 Sunday’s prior to Christmas Day.
Don’t’ you agree as Christian’s, we can all fall into the traps of “preparing for the arrival of Christmas Day” with shopping and parties, more than preparing our hearts to celebrate the advent or arrival of Christ?
My desire to write an Advent Devotions is to help us prepare our minds, hearts and lives to celebrate the arrival of Jesus, the reason for our Christmas season! I’ve grown more deeply aware of our need as Christian’s, to honor the ADVENT ARRIVAL OF CHRIST-mas!
God sent His only begotten Son Jesus, to arrive through the virgin Mary, to reveal God’s love and purposes to the world! Let us celebrate the advent birth of Jesus, with expectant hope in His future arrival.
