NOVEMBER 29 | NOTHING-NESS
…then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. Genesis 2:7
In preparing our hearts to celebrate Christmas, let’s keep the DUST FACTOR in mind. We are formed of dust and nothing-ness. But what’s alive “in our nothing-ness,” is God’s life giving breath. Because of God’s breath of life in us, He turns our nothingness into living beings!
We not only have the gift of our physical being (eating, working, living life, etc), we are living creatures in whom God breathed life and consciousness into. We possess the gift of free will, a conscience, a soul with feelings and an awareness of good, evil.
God’s advent arrival through Jesus’ as a baby, formed in his mothers womb like the rest of us – reflects the mercy of love of God. For our God, became Emmanuel, God with us – formed in a nothing-ness, temporal earth-suit!
Let’s worship God and give thanks for His life giving breath in us today!
