Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. John 4:34
The disciples knew Jesus was weary and hungry after giving much of Himself to minister to others. Yet Jesus speaks another lesson along life’s way about His mission. His food was not something received, to nourish Himself. HIs appetite led Him to crave obedience to the Father. Jesus said His food was to do God’s will and accomplish His work.
It’s true. In Christ, through Christ – we crave to obey God. Like Jesus we can say that our food is to be obedient and do His will. And doing His will means fulfilling His will. This is what we must continue to hunger for – accomplishing His work, not ours. Fulfilling God’s purpose, not ours. It’s just like God to give us enough strength to believe when we’re tired and fragile.
”We feed off of fulfilling and accomplishing God’s will in our lives!“
What is God asking you to do or fulfill in an area of your life? Is there an incomplete assignment that you are supposed to accomplish? Identify it. Pray – confess – repent – obey His voice – fulfill His will.
