Psalm 103:9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

Look at who He is and what He does and does not do!

What I’m guilty of doing in sin – even who I am having a sinful nature… God is the contrary!  He is polar opposite in nature, character, life!  How He treats His “rotten children” (like me), is incomprehensible considering He is a holy, just and righteous God!

There’s seems to be a catch in being a recipient of God’s contrary nature and love.  Verse 11 & 12 indicate those who are beneficiaries of the God of the Contrary.  “Those who fear Him.”

Today I acknowledge, thank and worship my God!  That I can call Him God of my heart is sheer grace and mercy.  Contrary to what I deserve in judgment, discipline, penalty and death, God has forgiven me.  Not only forgiven, but He accepts, affirms and clothes me with confidence, security, affirmation of HIs great love.

It’s more than a feeling of “wiping the sweat of relief off my brow” for NOT being caught and penalized.  It’s feeling of being restored and given a whole new start, with abundant provision, resources, blessing…!  I feel like the kid who got caught for stealing candy, was forgiven, then groomed with grace, training, and discipled to become the owner of the candy store!

Thank you to the God of the contrary, who is and does and does not do…according to Your nature, character and ways and purposes.

WOW Godhead!  I love You Daddy, Jesus and Spirit!  Thank you for Your contrary heart, character and being!
