The beautiful picture (below) depicting Mānoa valley was created by Miranda Chang. Mānoa means solid, vast, or depth, which describes the kind of relationship we desire to develop with God and one another. I love the heart images within the center mountain. The heart of God’s love | aloha is the solid, vast, and deep foundation of our lives. God has poured out His solid, vast and deep love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Ro. 5:8), and He calls us to SHOW GOD and SHARE HIS ALOHA.
There was an instance where I believe Jesus wanted to SHOW GOD and SHARE HIS ALOHA. A leader skilled in the Mosaic law was testing Jesus about receiving eternal life. Jesus turned the test back on him asking for his interpretation of God’s requirements to receive eternal life.
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Luke 10:27
Jesus’ reply was shocking, at least in the context of our modern-day methods of “receiving Christ into our hearts.” He didn’t direct the man to say the sinner’s prayer but replied…
And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
Luke 10:28
Receiving eternal life occurs when we love God with all our being, AND love others as ourselves, according to this encounter. And I believe the Holy Spirit impassions our hearts to Show God, living out His aloha, by Sharing His Aloha.
Let’s honor and obey Jesus… and “DO THIS” to those God has placed us in a relationship with: our families, neighbors, workplaces, communities, and beyond!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS, ALOHA, AND SUPPORT!
