I’m still pondering last Sunday’s message in our new series: Inside Out. Do you remember this passage from Proverbs 4:20? My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words.
Do you recall the picture I used from Robert Morishige? His place where he connects with God? A few of you text me your pictures of places you connect with God. We all should have places where we can “listen closely and pay attention” to God – through His Word, prayer, meditation, and worship. Whether in a quiet, serene place at home or outdoors, the main point is connection with Jesus.
Proverbs 4:13 says, “Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.” The writer is speaking of wisdom that comes from a wise father. We know there’s no wiser Father than our Heavenly Daddy, who has favored us with wisdom in and through Jesus! Check out this passage…
“It is because of him (Father God) that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.”
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NIV)
