Surrendering Our Burdens

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 NLT

If you joined us this past Sunday, you heard me share a mind’s eye vision I felt God gave me during worship.  I saw myself and others with cupped hands, surrendering our burdens to Jesus.  The crazy part of this vision was that in front of me stood Jesus with eyes of such deep, deep compassion, love, and grace! Then He cupped His hands under mine…! At that point, I felt in my heart that the Holy Spirit was saying that Jesus loves me so much. He will help me carry this burden. He will make it lighter. He is with me and HELPING me!

I shared with you on Sunday, that I felt that God was also saying to many of us, that He may not always REMOVE the burden, but He is affirming that He will help us – that He is with us! Jesus knows, loves, cares for each of us and is cupping His hands under our surrendered burdens.

THE KEY IS FOR US TO SURRENDER OUR BURDENS TO HIM!

I believe the principle of 2 Chronicles 16:9, holds true for us as believers today: “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” (NLT)

As we commit our lives and surrender our burdens to Him, He will strengthen us! God’s eyes are beaming with love, purposefully looking out for each of us! Our God is that Big! That Great! That Good! That Intentional! That Loving!
