“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9 NLT

I am so very grateful for Pastor Mike, leading and equipping men for Jesus! He’s a true reflection of “inside out leadership!”

The men are feeding their hearts and thoughts things that true, honorable, right…!

Have you heard the expression, “You are what you eat”?  Paul writes a similar expression to the Philippian church. You are what you feed your thoughts.  Verse 9 reads, “Keep putting into practice,” or live out the thoughts you are fixated on. In a dire situation, Paul himself was imprisoned, yet practicing what he preached.

He fed his mind thoughts of truth, honor, things worthy of praise to God! He wasn’t asking the Philippians to do something he hadn’t done.  Paul led by example, exhorting others to practice what they heard and saw him doing.

This is the kind of heart, lifestyle, and leadership we desire to reflect and provide for our NHM ‘Ohana! I am so very grateful for our leaders and volunteers who desire to grow mānoa (deep, vast, strong) in Jesus and with one another. And may we all desire to live out these Inside Out Leadership qualities Paul speaks of.
