How’s your week going? Whew! It’s been a challenging week for Beckie and I. We both got hit with a stomach virus. My case was more severe. I went to urgent care on day 3 and got some meds. Thank You, Jesus! Today we’re both feeling tons better—still healing, patiently doing our part to rest and care for ourselves.
I was meditating on Psalm 100. I needed a mind and heart shift, while experiencing constant pain for 3-4 days. I hate pain, don’t you? But it’s a part of our journey in so many different ways. Relationships. Health. Inner pain from past hurts.
(The picture: I pasted Psalm 100 words into a Wordle app that highlights the repeated words.)
Choosing a positive, good, and thankful attitude is not always easy, especially when we are experiencing pain or hardships. The Lord is soooooooooo tov (good) 🙂 that He gives us the strength, in our inner heart*, to choose Him, to choose to set our minds and hearts on His tov-ness. So that’s what I pray we all are led to do, to choose to set our minds on our Tov God, who is faithful (Psalm. 100:5).
* It’s the Holy Spirit living in us who is faithful to teach, remind, guide us to focus on Jesus!
Read through and meditate on Psalm 100. I see verses 3 and 5 as the foundational truth and reason why we can live out verses 1, 2, 4. Check it out. What do verses 3 and 5 say about who God is? Do you see why I wrote the above?
Dear Daddie God, please favor us all with Your conviction and strength to choose You, to choose gratefulness and praise in the ups, downs, good, bad, and through the twists and turns in life. Helps us to know, believe, choose, and confess that YOU ARE TOV!
