Peter: An Everyday Disciple

Do you know much about Peter, the disciple of Jesus? What stories have you read or heard about him? You are likely familiar with the rooster and Peter’s denial of Jesus, or maybe the story of Jesus rebuking Peter—when He rebuked Satan! That was gnarly! Wasn’t it Peter who jumped out of a boat in the middle of the storm and walked on water to meet Jesus?

Peter’s reputation was known to be brash, bold, and brave—a disciple who stuck his foot in his mouth a little too often.

When you read about Peter’s ministry in the Acts of the Apostles and his letters, 1st and 2nd Peter, and you go, ”WOWZAH! This Peter is a bold everyday lover of Jesus! He seemed to be an everyday lover of Jesus!

He learned great lessons through his failures—and so can we!

Peter kept following Jesus, even after failing Jesus—and so we will!

Jesus never stopped loving Peter—and so He never stops loving you and me!”

I love Peter’s exaltation of God the Father! By His great mercy, which includes His love, the Father has given us new birth—new beginnings, new days with new breaths—into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus! And we can say, WOWZAH, GOD THE FATHER! THANK YOU, JESUS!

Let’s continue to be thankful worshippers with everyday love for our Godhead! He is sooooo tov!
