“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4:8-9 ESV

Paul calls us to redirect our inner voice, our inner chatter. What’s your inner chatter like?  For me, some God-directed chatter leads me toward Jesus, but some thoughts pull me away from His heart.

Today, let’s notice our the inner chatter. Name the thoughts that don’t sound like Jesus. Then, shift our minds toward what is true and worthy of praise. I know when my thoughts align with Christ, our hearts find peace again.

Lord, grant me the conviction to silence and rid my mind and heart, of negative, godless inner chatter – and to fill my mind and tune my thoughts to Your truth! Help me to practice meditating on Your truth throughout the day!

When your inner chatter gets loud, what helps you redirect your mind back to God’s truth?
