“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!”
Psalm 105:1–2 ESV
With many people I know experiencing hurts, needs and challenges, I’ve been struggling to celebrate life with others. Especially those who seem (to me) to be living care-free and insensitive to others pains. When I feel people are unempathetic and being self centered (in my opinion), I get internally irritated. That’s yuk on my part—yuk in my heart.
Beckie and I are so very blessed to be living a pretty great life, with so much to be grateful for.

Pictured is Venus with her mom, Nanay. Venus has been such a reflection of Jesus love, compassion, empathy of kindness to her family and our church family. And Nanay has such a warm, kind, tender soul! Like all of you (who I know at our church), she lives with a grate-filled heart, even through challenges!
This reminds me of the psalmist singing of God’s awesome and mighty acts in Psalm 105! This song of thanksgiving is their worship. And their worship included making known God’s deeds and telling of His wonderful works. This is how generations to come would be strengthened in their faith, trust in, and relationship with God.
I don’t think gratitude in Scripture is ever meant to be private—it moves outward in praise, testimony, and story. The psalmist reminds us that thanking God is more than feeling thankful; it is calling on His name, singing His praise, and telling others what He has done. When we speak of God’s wonders—answered prayers, quiet faithfulness, unexpected grace—we keep our hearts anchored in hope and invite others to see God at work through everyday lives.
What are you grateful to God for today? What can you share with others about God that would make Him smile and encourage others? Let’s share it! Let’s testify, sing and praise our Godhead!
