“We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.”
2 Thessalonians 1:3 NIV
We are only in the second week of 2025 and the “Happy New Year” greetings are less and less. Just over a month ago we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas was just a few of weeks ago!
What I pray stays on the forefront of our hearts and conversations is the gratefulness of heart to God who is always so very TOV (good)! Tragedy and hardships surround us. For those affected personally by unexpected catastrophe and suffering, we lift up in prayer, trusting God to sovereignly reveal His love, grace, and strength.
I don’t mean to be negative or over empathetic when I say many people didn’t have a “merry” Christmas or a “happy” New Year. It’s the truth, isn’t it! The reality of suffering has always been and will always be with us on this side of heaven and eternity. In the mean time, we cultivate a thankful heart, praying for each other’s faith to grow more and more – and for our love to increase for one another and others!
