“What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”
2 Timothy 1:13-14 NIV
Aloha Family!
I hope your January is going well. I’ve been thinking about my to-do list and goals for my health, faith, family and finances. UGH…! My to-do list includes items that do not involve my goals. What about your day to day, yearly, or life goals? Do you try to align your day to day “to-do lists” with your life’s goals?
I have spiritual growth goals that I’m trying to align with my day to day and weekly to-do lists, like incorporating Scripture memory, studying Bible topics of interest, and growing my relationship with our Godhead. Too often, I’ve set goals that include spending a certain amount of time in prayer or reading so many chapters of the Bible a day. Personally, I’ve changed my approach.
My encouragement is for us to not give up, be disappointed or set back in cultivating our spiritual goals, but to also align and incorporate our goals with our daily or weekly to-do lists.
May Paul’s exhortation to Timothy encourage us to grow closer and stronger in our faith and love in Jesus. So guard your hearts and time spent with Him. May we guard against the distractions of life, with the help from the Holy Spirit. May the sound teaching of the Holy Spirit through His word lead us to every day experiences in Jesus!
