A recent prayer plea this past week had my heart heavy burdened.  And I know the “right answer!”  I’ve encouraged the weary and heavy burdened with Matthew 11:28!  Two teens went missing on the North Shore.  My heart was extra grieved and troubled, having met the parents of Sammy Chun. My daughter Malia knew Sammy and her parents though in-line roller skating. We cannot imagine what the Chun family and other teen’s family are going through! The unimaginable and unexpected tragedy of losing their daughter is beyond heart wrenching! When Jesus said, “Come to me if you are weary and heavy burdened,” I believe He meant it.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)

I also have experienced that knowing the “right answer” doesn’t mean I don’t experience doubt, fear, and a weak faith. I just want to believe that God is all-knowing and all-loving. Life is filled with awful, tragic situations, and I hope to be able to hold onto Jesus and trust Him when horrific things take place.

This is my prayer for the Chun family, close friends! That in the middle of experiencing a “hell on earth” situation, they would all encounter the peace, comfort and strength of Jesus! May our Godhead surround them and fill their hearts – and that all connected to the two teens would experience God’s great grace!
