“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. . . . The seed that fell on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:16, 23 NIV
How do you feel when you think of Jesus … and how much He loves you? When was the last time you truly sensed His presence?

Jesus’ parable of the sower reminds us that God’s Word is being generously offered. He desires to reveal Himself to us, be with and bless us with His presence! The seed of His voice wants to commune with our hearts throughout the day. The question never whether the seed is good or not. The question is, “How’s the soil of our hearts today?“
Some days my heart is hard, distracted, or crowded with anxiousness or busyness. Other days, my heart is surrendered and eager to receive what God wants to plant. Jesus calls us “blessed” when our eyes see and our ears hear—when we let His Word and voice take root and grow in the good soil of our hearts.
More often, the invitation is for me to slow down, soften my heart, and let His Word and voice permeate into the soil of my soul. I know the Holy Spirit loves to cultivate what the Father plants. I want to yield the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience—oh yes, more patience 🙂—kindness, and more gentleness in my life.
Thank you, Daddie God, for sending the Living Word Jesus and the Holy Spirit to live in my heart. Thank you for Your grace and love, especially when the soil of my heart is not good. May the seeds of Your truths be planted and grow mānoa in my heart—to love and live for You—and to love my wife, family, and others the way You want me to!
