God is TOV and I desire to please Him!

“With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. [12] We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NIV

God is Tov (good)… and I desire to please Him!

The young man who lost his paddle while paddling with his one-man canoe, found himself drifting further out to sea. The sun was setting and he was lost overnight!

Can you imagine the heart-wrenching emotions and intense desire his parents experienced for their son to be found, while he was lost at sea???!!! Thankfully he was found 11 hours later hanging onto his canoe.

I can’t comprehend God our Father’s emotions of love, compassion, and intense desire to reach His lost children!!!

Have you ever felt lost or distant in your relationship with God? Maybe you’re experiencing storms that have caused you to drift away from God.

Observation for 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
I believe Paul magnifies God’s power and grace in 2 Thessalonians, as the foundation for us to stay close to and build a good relationship with Him. God’s power and grace enable us to fulfill His calling and live to glorify Him.

Application for 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
Being made worthy of God’s calling and living a life of fruitfulness, goodness, and faith is a daily process. I acknowledge and desire to yield to God’s power and grace—to live a life that glorifies Him.

Prayer
Thank You, Godhead, for Your grace and power at work within me, to please and honor You with my thoughts, words, and actions.
