Merry Christmas 2024! Wowzah! Can you believe we are moving into 2025 already?! I think we all agree… Time flies by sooooooooooooooo quickly!
From the time of Isaiah to the time of the angel appearing to the virgin Mary, scholars estimate nearly 700 years passed. I bet that time period didn’t seem to fly by so fast for those expecting the advent of their Messiah!! And you say Virgin Mary! VIRGIN? What does that mean… virgin? When we more deeply meditate on the fact that God impregnated a virgin young woman, the miracle of the advent of God is more unimaginable and unbelievable!
To me, the story becomes more believable when the child born, baby Jesus, is revealed in our hearts as God. I can personally believe with strong assurance, that the advent of Jesus has become the advent of God. For the Child born in human likeness is Immanuel—God with us (Matthew 1:23)—who is also called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace!
