Many of you know we have a Prayer Team receiving prayer requests via text messages. We have a total of 27 Prayer Warriors, loving, caring, and praying for friends, family members, and others connected to our NHM ‘Ohana.
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.”
Psalm 61:1-3 NIV
The hymn comes to heart: “On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand…”
People we pray for can easily grow weary and get discouraged. There are foes of sickness, trials, and sinfulness. We all know what it’s like to be sick or going through a season of hardship and in need of prayer. Whether the need is small or great, we believe our God cares, loves, hears, and answers—according to His heart and will. Like the Psalmist, we pray, “lead us to the ROCK that is higher than us! For YOU are our Refuge, Safety, Protector, Strong Tower—YOU ARE OUR STRONG FOUNDATION!”
I encourage you today, this weekend—with all that’s going on in your mind, heart, and life—to worship God, sing this hymn: “On Christ the Solid Rock I stand…!” Meditate on who God is in the Psalms! He is faithful, strong, and good!
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)
There are trials and hardships that we can’t stop or control. But we can run for cover, run to our Refuge, Hiding Place, Strong Tower and Rock!
