When you think about the passage in Matthew 6:33 about seeking first God’s Kingdom, what comes to mind?
Do you question yourself whether you are prioritizing God and His Kingdom purpose in your life?
What does it mean to you, to seek God’s Kingdom first?
Matthew reminds us that the Kingdom of God has come through Jesus—the King Himself. From His teaching on the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is not just talking about living under a new Kingdom rule for every part of our lives.
In Matthew 6, Jesus speaks about our worries, provision, security, and what to think about “tomorrow.” He said, “Tomorrow will worry about itself.” He’s reminding us that Kingdom relationship and living happens one day at a time. He contrasts anxiousness with a confident trust.
When Jesus says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,” He is calling us to reset and re-center our hearts and lives around God’s teachings, values, trusting His faithfulness and not our fears.
I pray for ALL OF US to daily reset and re-center our hearts to be filled with God’s Kingdom discernment, wisdom, and a strong, pure desire to obey Him. May we build our lives on trusting and seeking Him first. Let’s encourage and pray for one another in these areas!
