“From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
John 1:16

Life comes in seasons.

Some seasons are filled with joy and clarity. Others bring change, uncertainty, disappointment, waiting, or even loss.

But no matter the season of life we are in, we all need grace!  God’s grace — and the grace of others.  As Christ-followers, we should strive to be people of grace — who give grace.

Has anyone ever made you feel fully loved, forgiven, accepted, understood, seen … even when you don’t deserve it?  Wowzah!  Thank God for that person in your life!  For those people you’ve encountered unconditional grace through!

Receiving and experiencing this kind of grace is so empowering, especially through times of failure or weakness.  I’m reminded of Paul’s desperate plea for God to remove his personal, persistent failures and weaknesses.  God answered…

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Paul received and experienced the grace of God and the power that came with it!

Sometimes we are hardest on ourselves. I should be stronger, better, know what to do. But Jesus doesn’t say, “Try harder and be self-sufficient.” He says, “My grace is sufficient.” We all need to receive the grace of Jesus for our weaknesses, limitations, trials and difficulties.

I encourage you, whatever season of life you are in, whatever your week or month has thrown at you, say it right now…

I need and receive Your grace, Lord Jesus! Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering me to be and live in the grace and image of Christ … by faith, not being dictated by my emotions, circumstances, failures or weaknesses! I love YOU, GODHEAD — Daddy God, Jesus and Holy Spirit!
