Acknowledging insecurities in our lives can be intimidating or freeing!
But the challenge is moving the “IN” in INsecure to being secure “IN” Jesus!
We all have insecurities! Whether it’s our appearance, abilities, accomplishments, relationships, or what others think of us, insecurities have a way of sneaking into our hearts.
When Paul wrote to the believers in Colossae, they were surrounded by teachings and cultural pressures suggesting they needed something “more” to be spiritually complete. But Paul reminded them that their lives were already hidden with Christ in God! WOWZAH! What a powerful picture of our identity and security!
Our security isn’t found in what we accomplish, how others see us, or even how we see ourselves. Our security is found in WHOSE we are! We were and are SECURED BY JESUS — His unconditional love, grace, and presence in our hearts and lives!
Maybe the answer to our INsecurities is to move our focus from ourselves to the One who lives IN us — JESUS! The more secure we become IN Christ, the less controlled we become by our INsecurities.
So, question to self: Am I allowing my insecurities to define me, or am I allowing Jesus to remind me of who I am IN Him?
Let’s continue learning to live IN Jesus, not just FOR Jesus, as the Holy Spirit reminds us, we’ve been secured BY JESUS!
