I went to a jiu jitsu class and before the session began, the professor acknowledged two guys who hadn’t been there for over a month. It was endearing to see the men’s smiles, having been recognized. They were missed!

I was reminded of a text I received from one of our church ‘ohana. They asked for the address of another member who hadn’t been around for a while. “We just want to send a card and let them know they are missed and loved.”

It made me pause and think about who I have missed seeing. Who God might be placing on my heart to say a prayer for or send a text to. This is the heart behind Paul’s prayer for the believers in Thessalonica—a prayer I want to say for our NHM ‘ohana and beyond:

“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1:11–12 NLT

Isn’t that a powerful word and prayer? A love that holds other up in prayer, a faith that prompts us obey God by His grace!

Who is someone God may be prompting you to pray this Scripture for and to reach out to this week?

If you are reading this and you haven’t been to church for a while, please know that you are loved! Your presence is meaningful to us. Please be in touch and let me know how I can be praying for you!
