Sharing the Gift of God’s Aloha

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV

The word encourage means to come alongside someone; to help, strengthen or comfort them.

That’s exactly what Jesus has done for you and me, right? By His Spirit in us, He never stops pursuing and reminding us that we are loved, forgiven, and never alone.

I know when I’ve been discouraged and someone shared a kind word, listening ear, or hug, my soul was encouraged. Sometimes we underestimate the power of a simple gesture of kindness.

A handwritten note. A thoughtful card. A few words that say, “I’ve been thinking about you. I’m praying for you. You are loved.” God uses simple gestures of love to encourage the hearts and lives of others.

Hebrews 10:24–25 says “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds … encouraging one another.”

This Sunday after church (in the Teachers Lounge) we will have an opportunity to put God’s aloha in action. Join us as we gather to share the gift of God’s aloha by writing and creating cards to send to those on our hearts. Let’s share and send Jesus aloha to others to let them know they are loved, thought of, prayed for and remembered. Let’s believe that our simple gesture will bring hope, healing and encouragement – used by God to bring breakthrough.

So join us this Sunday after church, invite a friend to write the gift of God’s aloha, one person, one prayer, one card at a time. Cards, pens, materials, envelopes, and stamps 🙂 will be provided!
