Aloha Friday NHM ‘Ohana!

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Life with God is filled with seasons. Some we welcome and rejoice in – others we would never choose. While we all experience different seasons, we learn to trust the same faithful God. Some seasons make perfect sense, while others leave us questioning.

SEASONS OF LEARNING

Some of the greatest men and women of faith in the Old Testament walked through seasons they didn’t understand. Seasons and circumstances change. But God remains TOV… and faithful.

Abraham learned to surrender – placing Isaac on the altar without knowing how God would fulfill His promise. (Genesis 22)

Joseph learned to endure – being thrown in the pit … in prison. (Genesis 37, 39)

Esther learned to trust – when she was placed in a royal position, Mordecai reminded her … “for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14)

Moses learned through doubts and insecurities – when called by God. His “who am I?” was met with God’s “I will be with you.” (Exodus 3:11–12)

Hannah learned to pour her heart out to the Lord – carrying the deep pain of unanswered prayers. She poured out her heart before the Lord, trusting Him with her pain and future. (1 Samuel 1:18)

Different people. Different assignments. Different seasons. Same faithful God.

Do you think God desires to change us – our hearts – in the midst of our circumstances and seasons?

May the season you are in be used of God to transform you into the image of God. May our identity in Jesus be mānoa through the season we are in. Thank You Godhead for Your faithful, patient, radical love!

Message slides are available every Sunday morning.

If you are interested in being water baptized, please read the brochure. Reach out to Pastor Rod or Malia to schedule a personal baptism date. Invite your friends and family to celebrate your monumental decision!

What is the significance of water baptism? Baptism signifies that through repentance, forgiveness, and faith, we belong to Jesus. As Christians, we are identifying with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Read more

Tithes & Offering: What Our Pastor Believes

The bottom line to me (my opinion and belief) is that as Christians, we should ask God where He wants us to give and how much.

I’ve been asked numerous times, “Pastor, do I need to give 10% of my income to the church?” ≫Continue reading
