To be honest, I thought about changing out the picture of Beckie and me but then I thought, nah. It’s only January 16th—just 16 days into a new year. Oh my! It feels like we’re long past January 1st. Has the past couple of weeks flown by for you? It seems like the older I get, the faster time files.
I recently heard a Catholic priest say, “I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is that this year will fly by faster than last year. The good news is—you’re the pilot!” That line stuck with me.
There’s a lot we have control over: our schedules, commitments, and plans. The closer I get to Jesus, the more I realize I want Jesus to be the pilot of my life. I’d rather be His co-pilot, trusting His guidance for my life.
The psalmist reminds us, “My times are in Your hands.” (Psalm 31:15) What a foundational truth. Not just our years, but our days—this season, this week, even today—are in His hands. We can trust Him to be on time and on schedule involving every part of our lives.
Let’s let Jesus steer and lead us one day, one moment at a time. When He’s the Pilot, we can trust every part of our lives—the ups, downs, good and challenging—are in His hands.
