“We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people …”
Colossians 1:3-4
Paul prays with thanksgiving for his spiritual ‘ohana. He acknowledges their mānoa faith in Jesus and mānoa love for ALL God’s people.
Oh, that you and I would be a family who defines fruitfulness by this passage and not by our church programs, services, or ministries. We do thank God for the gift to meet at a beautiful place, with air condition, nice seats, sound system, lights, etc. But what makes us family is not the building, programs, or services, it is our growing faith in Jesus and love for each other and people around us.
After all these years of ministry, I’m reminded that the beautiful gifts we experience is the people we get to know, love, walk with, and grow with in Jesus! Let’s continue being family — praying, serving, encouraging, giving, showing up, walking through difficult seasons together, and doing life together.
I’m so grateful and honored that God has given me the privilege of knowing, loving, and shepherding you, our awesome ‘ohana. My prayer is that we would never take one another for granted but continue growing in what Paul celebrated: faith in Jesus and love for one another.
Thank You, Jesus, for our ‘ohana. May our faith and aloha keep growing mānoa in You, and may our lives show and share Your aloha!
Love y’all!
Rod
